Real skills. Real independence.

One-to-one support for your loved one, at home and out in the community.

Adaptive skills training

We teach everyday skills

Think of us as skills coaches. We work side-by-side with your loved one, practicing the real-life stuff that builds independence, at your pace.

  • Cooking, cleaning, laundry: running a home with confidence.
  • Getting around: shopping, appointments, transportation.
  • Communication and social skills for friendships, school, and work.
  • Job readiness and the school-to-adult transition, step by step.

Behavioral support

Support when behaviors get tough

When challenging behaviors get in the way of daily life, our behavior team follows a plan written just for your loved one by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and adjusts it based on real data.

  • A personal plan from our BCBA. Never one-size-fits-all.
  • A trained technician works 1:1, following the plan exactly.
  • We track progress with data and fine-tune what isn't working.
  • We coach your family too, so strategies work at home.
  • Always dignified. We never use punishment or restraint.

Straight talk

What we're not

  • We're not babysitters. Every visit has a purpose.
  • We're not a clinic. Support happens in real life, not a waiting room.
  • Skills coaches don't do behavior plans, and behavior techs don't freelance. Everyone stays in their lane, supervised properly.

Our promise to you

You will never sit on a waitlist with us. If families need us, we hire. That's the deal. You'll know what's happening and why, in plain words, every step of the way.

Daryl, Executive Director

Why families pick ASTLA

We're a nonprofit, which means every dollar goes back into supporting families, not shareholders.

  • No waitlists. Ever. When you need us, we staff up. You don't wait.
  • Assessments done within 3–5 days, not 3–5 months.
  • One-to-one support, in your home and out in your community.
  • You choose the goals. We build the plan around your family.
  • Real progress you can see, tracked and shared with you.
Getting started

Ready when you are

Getting help shouldn't feel like paperwork. Here's all it takes:

  1. Talk to your service coordinator and ask for ASTLA by name.
  2. We'll do an assessment within 3–5 days. No waiting around.
  3. Together we build a plan around goals your family chooses.

Families pay nothing. Services are funded through your regional center.
