ASTLA partners with California Regional Centers to make our programs accessible to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
What Is a Regional Center?
Regional Centers are nonprofit organizations that contract with the California Department of Developmental Services to coordinate services and supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as established under the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act.
Each Regional Center works with individuals and families to develop an Individual Program Plan (IPP) that outlines the services needed to help a participant live as independently as possible — and connects families with approved, vendored providers, like ASTLA, to deliver those services.
How It Works
Here’s what the process generally looks like when accessing ASTLA’s programs through your Regional Center.
Our structure places the individual at the forefront of all decisions and care.
Let your Service Coordinator know you’d like Adaptive Skills Training – LA included as part of your Individual Program Plan (IPP).
Our team works directly with your Regional Center to confirm authorization and get services scheduled quickly.
Once approved, we welcome your loved one into a program tailored to their goals — with ongoing communication with your Regional Center.
